OOKEJA BETTY OKIA ACCA (UK), CPA (U), CAT
Betty is the managing partner of ANNEKO ASSOCIATES the responsibility that implores upon her to provide leadership through exhibiting integrity, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment. Such behavior that becomes contagious throughout the firm. She will enhance Leadership through frequent communication with the team to keep them informed of the firm’s vision and current events, especially during difficult times. Such communication keeps morale high and the team motivated. She a graduate of the association of chartered certified accountants of UK and hold a professional certification with the institute of certified public accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
Prior to obtaining the above certifications she pursued and graduated as a Certified Accounting Technician with the association of chartered certified accountants of UK.
Betty has had an industrious career as a senior auditor with Bawunha & Badebye Certified Public Accountants charged with leading audit teams and delivering on assignments.
She has as well worked with various organizations as an accountant for a consulting firm outsourcing the bookkeeping and accounting services under her supervision. Betty had a role of a revenue accountant with Meridian Africa Airlines (U) Ltd (Air Uganda that enabled her develop keen interest in advising and supervising others and she is multitasking. As ANNEKO ASSOCIATES grows, her role becomes very important in building an effective team that will discuss the direction of the firm and make policy decisions. We believe that the whole is equal to the sum of its parts, then having a talented, focused and motivated team of professionals that should be a top priority for her in this role and to usher into place policies and procedures that will mitigate the risks facing the firm every day. Such policies and procedures should address:

a. Acceptance and continuance of clients
b. Going concern issues, especially in today’s economy
c. Quality control in all firm services
d. Personnel policies
e. Billing and collections

NNAMUNYAAKO ANNE BA (MUK), FCCA, CPA (U), MBA (Harriot Watt)
Anne is a Partner with ANNEKO Associates Certified Public Accountants and one of its founding members with over 10 years’ progressive experience gained in the banking and media sectors of the economy. Her leadership qualities and commitment to the accounting Profession has seen her hold positions that have shaped her audit and management abilities to be able to guide the firm and address clients’ needs by critically examining the organizational goals vis a vie existing controls.
She has been pertinent to our client’s growth by providing eminent recommendations.
Anne is a holder of a degree in Development Economics of Makerere University and she is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK), she progressed with her studies to achieve an MBA with specialism in Finance from Heriot Watt University (Edinburgh Business School).
The need to address local needs that are more relevant for the Ugandan clients and her vision for practicing in accounting in Uganda, she saw the emphasis it brings to her career in enrolling as professional accountant with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) and she graduate and member of the institute. Her work career with the Banking and Micro Finance institutions gave her proper insight into the sector internal control systems she also held the position as the country Head of internal audit with the Nation Media Group that extends to over three of its subsidiary institutions in collaboration with the Kenyan head office. She worked with MEDNET (Micro Enterprise Development Network), Economic Policy Research Centre Makarere University as a research Assistant. She is proud for having worked as the internal auditor with Cairo International bank, Post bank and united bank for Africa.

MMWESIGE JOHN ACCA (UK), BBA (MUK), DIP (MUBS)
Mwesige is a Tax Manager with ANNEKO Associates and a graduate of Association of Chattered Certified Accountant (ACCA UK).
He is currently studying for his certification as a Certified Public Accountant with the institute of certified public accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). Prior to pursuing a career as a professional accountant, John earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Makerere University, He holds an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance from Institute of Commercial Management UK, Uganda Dip in Business studies from Makerere University Business School and Certificate in Strategic Procurement in Logistics Management from Makerere University. In his career progression, he worked as an Accountant with First Insurance Co. Ltd, a position that was highly demanding for his accounting skills coupled with business insurance understanding knowledge for a period 2003 – 2007 before joining the telecom sector with Zebra Telecom Ltd – An MTN Eastern Uganda Region Franchise 2007 – 2012.
His accounting and knowledge growth in the telecom sector resulted in him taking up the position of Operations manager with another Franchice of MTN Uganda (Chims Enterprises Lt/Chims Africa Ltd) in 2012-2014. Mwesige held part time roles with PM Associates as a Senior Auditor before taking up his recent role as a chief finance officer with Wamuco Motors (U) Ltd.
The desire to practice and serve the business community in Uganda has enabled him take up the role with the firm as a key resource in charge operationalization of the firm’s business strategy.

KKAHANGI GODWIN BSc Stat (MUK), PGD (UMI)
Godwin is a graduate of Bachelors of statistics of Makerere University (MUK) who is a resource to Anneko Associates. He holds a position as the Business Development Manager (BDM), engaged in mobilization of clients for various services being offered by the firm.
He holds a post Graduate qualification in Taxation obtained from Uganda management institute that enables him provide assistance to our tax department besides business mobilization. He worked with PMAssociates Certified Public Accountants as a tax consultant where he addressed tax needs of various clients in tax planning, filling of Directors and company returns including conducting specialized tax investigations o behalf of the firm’s clients.
His expertise in Taxation together with business acumen shall enable us to conduct tax clinics where we shall provide diagnostic tax planning activities for our clients.
Prior to his roles in accountancy practice, Godwin has worked with Uganda Revenue Authority in the tax investigation department where he was part of the team to ensure that the tax base of Uganda is able to create inflows to fund the Ugandan economy.

AATEGEKA JOHN MARY ACCA (UK) Fin, BA (MUK)
Ategeka is an Audit Manager and trainer with ANNEKO Associates. A graduate of (BA) in social sciences of Makerere University who is driven with the need to serve the business community in advisory services. Mr Ategeka is a finalist of Association Chartered Certified Accountants, a global accounting body,in the last six years he has served in various roles in accounting vis a vie his additional role as a lecturer for Financial Accounting at Team Business institute.
In the accountancy practice, he held a role as an Auditor with Arden field Certified Public Accountants and PM associates where he was responsible for the audit of various clients and strict implementation of the audit programs together with the quality of field evidence that supported the audit opinions.
Mr Ategeka, prides himself in ensuring that timely audits are prepared that address the needs of the stakeholders and he cherishes ANNEKO Associates values throughout the audit exercise and is a consultative team player. Outside, his roles in auditing, he worked with Kolping Holdings Uganda Limited as an accountant for a period of 4 years.Kolping is a registered NGO under a holding company Kolping Holdings Uganda Limited (KHUL).
He also worked as a project Accountant for Christian Foundation for Children & Aging (Now Unbound international) which has four branches in Uganda. He will ensure that the planning of various engagements is sound and meets the requirements of our quality standards throughout implementation and reporting.

JJUSTUS KUSEMERERWA, BSc (Accounting)
Having completed his Bachelors of science degree in accounting obtained from Ndejje University, he has had hands on experience in undertaking accounting roles before taking up the position as an assistant auditor with the firm.. The role of the assistant auditor is primarily responsible for performing the procedures delegated by the senior auditor, Justus has the specific responsibilities of ensuring that:

- The audit programs are well implemented to achieve the audit objectives.
- Informing the audit senior promptly of any problems experienced or discrepancies found.
- Providing explanations, on-the-job training, and appraisals to other assistants with less experience.

It’s imperative that the draft accounts are aligned with the working papers to support the opinions and he has been instrumental as a team member in the audit of various sectors. He has held team membership roles and produced credible findings that have a bearing to improvement of internal controls of our clientele hence will be instrumental to the team.

AADONGO FLORENCE BE, CPA (U) (Student)
Florence, is a graduate of Business economics of Uganda Maters Nkozi, she is currently pursuing her professional studies with the institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda she has worked as an accounts personnel with Octagon Consulting Limited. She has the breadth of knowledge in various accounting that include cash accounting and the accrual accounting the experience she has built upon in undertaking the audit of the firm’s clients. She holds the position of an Audit Assistant with the firm. Mandated with the following roles;-

- The audit programs are well implemented to achieve the audit objectives.
- Informing the audit senior promptly of any problems experienced or discrepancies found.
- Providing explanations, on-the-job training, and appraisals to other assistants with less experience.

She ensures that the draft accounts are aligned with the working papers to support the opinions and she has team building skills gained from being a team member in the audit of various sectors.
